Nationwide Public Safety Confidence Index & Dashboard

Overview

The Public Safety Confidence Index is a joint initiative between the National Policing Institute (NPI) and Zencity, providing public safety leaders, researchers, and community members with a continuous, statistically robust barometer of public sentiment and trust in policing across the United States.

Key Contributions

  • Continuous Sentiment Tracking: Synthesized multi-source community feedback, survey data, and algorithmic sentiment indicators to create a standardized national confidence metric.
  • Interactive Geospatial Dashboard: Collaborated on the architecture and launch of the public dashboard, translating complex statistical aggregates into intuitive visualizations for agency decision-makers.
  • Executive & Conference Briefings: Unveiled the index at the 2025 International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) conference in Denver, CO, demonstrating its utility for benchmarking community trust and operational accountability.

Impact

The dashboard serves as a first-of-its-kind public data resource, enabling evidence-based resource allocation and transparent dialogue between law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.
